The hotel standard, issued in 1989, regulates the procedure for assigning stars to hotels. In those years, at the session of the World Tourism Organization, documents were adopted containing items that today are no longer "luxury" features. That is why a five-star hotel can sometimes match the quality of service to hotels with fewer stars. Also the star status in Slovenia is assigned by the Ministry of Tourism, based on national standards.

Many hotels do not give guests a choice of floor. You can indicate your preferences in the booking request, the hotel manager will try to accommodate your preferences. Also, in some hotels of Slovenia it is possible to choose superior rooms located on certain floors - for example: from the 25th to the 30th.
